Look, I’m going to see G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. Childhood nostalgia and all that, I’m in. I’m not chomping at the bit and I’m preparing myself for another letdown, but still clinging to hope that it’s an entertaining throwback. I’m not looking for a deep, refined action flick, but it wouldn’t hurt if it wasn’t completely brain dead. That said, John Chu’s adaptation of the popular ’80’s Hasbro property has got me intrigued. The cast looks good, especially with Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson, Walton Goggins, Arnold Vosloo, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, a self-tanned Channing Tatum, and the bodaciously hot Adrianne Palicki.
The short-lived Wonder Woman herself, Palicki is no doubt a lovely lady, a fact that the producers have seemed to really home in on with this new sizzle trailer, which gives us some new shots of Palicki as famed character Lady Jaye wearing a tight-fitting jogging outfit and then standing topless facing a mirror. It’s a blink and miss moment, but it’s certainly there (don’t worry, I screencapped it for you).

With just under two weeks until release, I’m sure the studio is hard up to see if their 3D gamble paid off and are leaving no stone (or marketing gimmick) unturned in getting asses in seats for this one. It makes sense, I suppose, but does reek a bit of desperation. Not that I’m complaining. Palicki can go topless all she wants. I happily support her career decisions to do so.
