The good folks over at BlairWitch.de have scooped up some sweet new shots from THE SKELETON KEY. One thing seems pretty clear to me from what I’ve seen of the flick so far – the look of it is going to be outstanding. Not that a gorgeous palate is the end all be all, but so few horror flicks actually get filmed with a unique directorial vision that anytime one appears to have it I get all excited!
In case you’ve missed what this gothic bayou horror is all about, here’s the Cliff’s Notes version – Set largely in the dark backwoods just outside of New Orleans, The Skeleton Key stars Hudson as Caroline, a live-in nurse hired to care for an elderly woman’s (Gena Rowlands) ailing husband (John Hurt) in their home…a foreboding and decrepit mansion in the Louisiana delta. Intrigued by the enigmatic couple and their rambling house, Caroline beings to explore the old mansion. Armed with a skeleton key that unlocks every door, she discovers a hidden attic room that holds a deadly and terrifying secret.
