New stills from Gareth Evans’ The Raid 2 put a beatdown on you

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

With the release of Gareth Huw Evans' highly anticipated THE RAID 2 just a little over a month way (it arrives on March 28), we should be seeing some more promotional images and (hopefully) another trailer coming in to kick our collective asses over the next few weeks. Today we have a handful of new stills to share with you that gives us a little more of an idea of the beatdown we'll be receiving on March 28 and I, for one, can not wait!

Immediately following the events of the original, The Raid 2 tracks Officer Rama as he is pressured to join an anticorruption task force to guarantee protection for his wife and child. His mission is to get close to a new mob boss, Bangun, by befriending his incarcerated son, Uco. Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with corruption in the Jakarta Police Department while pursuing a dangerous and personal vendetta that threatens to consume him and bring his mission–and the organized crime syndicate–down around him.

Filmmaker Gareth Evans gloriously reunites with star Iko Uwais for this epic martial-arts sequel. No longer confined to a single building, the fight spills across the streets of Jakarta–from prison yards to subway cars. Evans packs his film with enough jaw-dropping action and groan-inducing hits to rival a Hollywood studio's entire summer slate.

Also starring in Evans' sequel: Yayan Ruhian, Raiden Integra, Donny Alamsyah, Kazuki Kitamura and Julie Estelle.

THE RAID 2 was produced by Ario Sagantoro for Merantau Films, and Aram Tertzakian and Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films. The film was executive produced by Rangga Maya Barack-Evans for Merantau Films, Irwan D. Mussry, Nick Spicer and Todd Brown on behalf of XYZ. Matt Flannery (THE RAID: REDEMPTION) and Dimas Imam Subhono served as cinematographers with Joseph Trapanese (THE BOURNE LEGACY), Aria Prayogi (THE RAID: REDEMPTION) and Fajar Yuskemal (THE RAID: REDEMPTION) scoring the picture.
