After arriving as Superman for DC's cinematic universe, and loading his biceps as August Walker for Christopher McQuarrie's MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT, THE TUDORS alum Henry Cavill is gearing up for a high-fantasy odyssey as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's THE WITCHER.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, THE WITCHER is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Netflix today launched a collection of promotional material for the upcoming series, including social handles, teaser art, and first looks photos featuring the show's logo and primary cast members.

In addition to unleashing the above batch of first look images, Netflix also announced that THE WITCHER will embark on a quest toward San Diego Comic-Con 2019 with a panel at 2:15 PM on July 19 in Hall H.  Moderated by accomplished actress and host and beloved sci-fi fan Yvette Nicole Brown (COMMUNITY), the panel will include cast members Cavill, Chalotra, and  Allan alongside showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

Filling out the remainder of the cast for Netflix's THE WITCHER are Jodhi May (GAME OF THRONES) as Calanthe, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson (FORTITUDE) as Eist, Adam Levy (SNATCH, KNIGHTFALL) as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring (RIPPER STREET) as Tissaia, Mimi Ndiweni (BLACK EARTH RISING) as Fringilla, Therica Wilson-Read (PROFILE) as Sabrina, and Emma Appleton (THE END OF THE F**KING WORLD) as Renfri, Eamon Farren (TWIN PEAKS) as Cahir, Joey Batey (KNIGHTFALL) as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen (SHERLOCK, HOUSE OF CARDS) as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson (WANDERLUST) as Istredd, Maciej Musia? (1983) as Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte (DICKESIAN) as Dara, and Anna Shaffer (HARRY POTTER) as Triss.

Recently, Legendary announced that Cavill will play Sherlock Holmes opposite Millie Bobby Brown and Helena Bonham Carter in ENOLA HOLMES, for a big screen adaptation of "The Enola Holmes Mysteries" novel series by author Nancy Springer. The books center around Enola Holmes, the much younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes.

While Cavill has already established himself as a bonafide badass on the big screen, Netflix's THE WITCHER will show the MAN OF STEEL actor facing nightmare monsters, twisted wizards, and horrors from beyond the veil. Here's hoping that THE WITCHER arrives as a major success, and serves as a sign that more action-oriented fantasy series can thrive on Netflix and beyond.
