Terminator: Dark Fate Tim Miller Linda Hamilton

Close on the heels of this morning's release of the TERMINATOR: DARK FATE trailer comes the release of a new batch of images, along with a featurette in which director Tim Miller, producer James Cameron, and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Natalia Reyes discuss this sequel that follows the events of THE TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY but ignores the sequels Cameron wasn't involved with.

The return of Hamilton to the franchise is a major focus of the featurette, as it has been for all of the marketing so far, but Cameron also talks about this being a gritty, fast, intense, white knuckle ride of a movie. The most interesting thing about the featurette is the "making of" footage that's mixed in there.

Cameron produced TERMINATOR: DARK FATE with David Ellison and gets story credit alongside Charles Eglee, Josh Friedman, David S. Goyer, and Justin Rhodes. Goyer and Rhodes wrote the screenplay with Billy Ray.

Hamilton is reprising the role of Sarah Connor, of course. Schwarzenegger is playing a bearded T-800 and Natalia Reyes is our new heroine Dani. Also in the cast are Diego Boneta as Dani's brother, Gabriel Luna as a villainous Terminator, and Mackenzie Davis as Grace, "a soldier-assassin from the future".

The height difference between Reyes and Davis seen in shots from the trailer and featurette reminds me of the fun TERMINATOR: GENISYS had with comparing Emilia Clarke's height to how tall Schwarzenegger and Jai Courtney are. I hope this won't get too much focus, I don't need height humor in back-to-back TERMINATOR movies.

TERMINATOR: DARK FATE is set to reach theatres on November 1st.
