New trailer for Eli Roth’s Netflix series Hemlock Grove teases monsters, murder, and a lustful Famke Janssen

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Hemlock Grove is the next foray into the original series department for Netflix, this time featuring Eli Roth as the showrunner and stars Famke Janssen, Dougray Scott, and Lili Taylor to carry the clout. Based on the novel of the same name by Brian McGreevy, the horror series is the next installment of binge-watching for the streaming service, which saw great success with its other original series, House of Cards.  The “all-at-once” season-by-season debut is a tremendous concept, but the jury’s still out on the sustainability of that model.  So far, so good, but I’m very curious to see how long it can last.

Today, we have a look at a longer trailer for the show, which features plenty of teases that should peak your curiosity and draw you in.  I won’t say that this is Game of Thrones level excitement, but certainly enough to warrant setting some time aside to check it out.

Take a look:

Here’s the synopsis:

A young girl is brutally murdered and found near the former Godfrey steel mill. As rumors mount, two of the suspects in her killing, Peter Rumancek, a 17-year-old Gypsy trailer trash kid rumored to be a werewolf, and Roman, the heir to the Godfrey estate, decide to find the killer themselves.

I’m a fan of Roth’s work, and I know he has his critics, so this is something I’ll definitely be checking out.  And, truthfully, Famke Janssen is an easy sell for me as she looks absolutely smoking hot in this.  Sometimes primal instincts can guide my viewing habits.  Plus, Dougray Scott brings considerable weight, as does Lili Taylor, who is becoming a bit of a horror leading lady with the upcoming THE CONJURING waiting in the wings.

Hemlock Grove premieres its entire first season on Netflix streaming on April 19, 2013.
