New trailer for RoboCop documentary RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Unbelievably violent, surprisingly smart, and sometimes wickedly funny, ROBOCOP is a staple of the action/sci-fi genre and remains just as beloved today as it was back in 1987. The movie is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and to celebrate the occasion a new documentary is on the way – ROBODOC: THE CREATION OF ROBOCOP. The doc features interviews from, seemingly, the entire cast and crew including Paul Verhoeven, Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith and more (Peter Weller's voice is featured). You can watch the first extended trailer here, and then you can pop in ROBOCOP because why the hell wouldn’t you after being reminded how awesome it is?

The sequels and the remake didn't live up to the quality of the first film, but my god is that original something. The blood came in buckets and the action was immense, but it also managed to act as a satire of American consumerism, greed, crime, etc. Smart as it is, it's just a helluva a lot of fun to watch, and getting to hear the cast and crew reflect on it after all these years will be a treat for die-hard fans, and will offer plenty of behind-the-scenes goodies for those unfamiliar with the production. There's something for everyone here!

ROBODOC: THE CREATION OF ROBOCOP is coming soon.
