Currently in negotiations to co-star alongside James Badge Dale in Legendary’s supernatural thriller SPECTRAL is Emily Mortimer (pictured), reports Variety. Nic Matthieu directs the film which was recently rewritten by John Gatins and George Nolfi. Ian Fried wrote the original script.

Not much has changed as far as any new story details go, so here's what we previously reported—the premise of the project is centered on a modern-day, militaristic and gritty approach to fighting the supernatural. Sources say the pitch has been described as a darker and more serious take on a Ghostbusters-like story, with a plot that revolves around a special ops group formed to bring down evil ghosts that have taken over Manhattan.

Mortimer will join the previously announced Clayne Crawford, Cory Hardrict, and Max Martini. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce with Jillian Share and Guy Riedel serving as executive producers. Look for more details soon!
