Like most people, I'm a huge fan of Nick Frost and Simon Pegg's THREE FLAVOURS CORNETTO TRILOGY of films, which included SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ, and THE WORLD'S END. They were hilarious genre send-ups (zombie films, buddy-cop movies, and alien invasion flicks, respectiely), and a big part of their success was the way these films contained a perfect mix of comedy, genuine appreciation of the genres they were spoofing, as well as sincere pathos for the characters that shined through the snark and deconstuction.
Now, the two are back together again for the Amazon series TRUTH SEEKERS, which just released a new trailer (that you can watch at the top of the article). Here's the official synopsis:
Truth Seekers is a supernatural comedy drama series featuring Nick Frost, Samson Kayo, Simon Pegg, and Emma D'Arcy. A group of part-time paranormal investigators team up to uncover a deadly conspiracy.
Looks fun to me! Always good to see these two together once more after all these years! Hopefully it was worth the wait!
Meanwhile, TRUTH SEEKERS will premiere on Amazon later this year!
