Nicolas Winding Refn’s Neon Demon officially begins production

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

As scheduled, Nicolas Winding Refn's wonderfully titled horror picture NEON DEMON has officially begun production in Los Angeles today, so says Space Rocket Nation.

About the commencement, Refn beamed:

“I very much look forward to the odyssey I’ll be taking with all these wonderful actresses (and a few guys) to travel beyond ‘The Neon Demon’ where all I see is the wicked dying young.”

As for the inspiration of NEON DEMON, Refn has stated in the past:

“One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women. Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty. After making ‘Drive’ and falling madly in love with the electricity of Los Angeles, I knew I had to return to tell the story of ‘The Neon Demon.’ This movie is a manifestation of the strong ties between us and will lead to many more adventures.”

Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks (below), Abbey Lee, Jena Malone, Bella Heathcote, Karl Glusman and Elle Fanning are all set to star in the flick. Stay posted for production news every step of the way.

THE NEON DEMON is due sometime in 2016.
