Inspired by ND Stevenson‘s (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) webcomic-turned-graphic novel, the story of Nimona unfolds in a colorful techno-future where Ballister Boldheart (Riz Ahmed), a knight in a futuristic, medieval world, is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona (Chloë Grace Moretz), a mischievous teen with a taste for mayhem. Oh, and did I mention Nimona is a shape-shifter?
With the entire kingdom out to get him, Nimona’s the best (or technically the only) sidekick Ballister can hope for. And as the lines between heroes, villains, and monsters blur, the unlikely duo set out to wreak serious havoc — for Ballister to clear his name once and for all, and for Nimona to… just wreak serious havoc.

Nimona is one of my favorite graphic novels of the past decade. It’s an imaginative, goodly-humored, all-ages adventure filled with action, magic, snark, and unforgettable characters. The film hit several snags on its way to Netflix, but now that it’s got a release date, fans can start getting excited about Nimona’s animated debut!
