There’s really no replacing or replicating Bruce Campbell’s immortal Ash in the EVIL DEAD remake – but I figured they’d at least try! But if The Chin’s Twitter feed is indeed to be believed, the remake won’t even have Ash as a character. An intriguing development.
Bruce, who is very Tweet-friendly with his followers, was answering questions when this query came across his monitor: “Who are they casting for ash?”
Campbell’s reply: “No Ash character currently.”
There was obviously a flurry of comments tossed his way, so Cambell also added this: Twitter fails when info gets fragmented. Last statement: ED remake is a re-telling. All bets are off & all involved love the new approach.
So there you go; looks like this really is a completely fresh take. Perhaps that’s for the best?
The script for the EVIL DEAD remake is being penned by Diablo Cody; the film will be directed by Fede Alvarez – and Campbell is set for a cameo.
