A few weeks back we heard through the grapevine that casting had begun on the latest entry in the JURASSIC PARK franchise, cleverly titled JURASSIC PARK 4. Today this rumor was snuffed by SpielbergFilms.com, who apparently just asked the folks at Amblin Entertainment if the rumor was true, in which they replied casting has not commenced on the film, as the story and screenplay are still in development.
Good. Very, very good. Because the story we originally heard for JP4 sounded atrocious. Let’s hope they re-work the hell outta it, and turn it into something that will make us forget JURASSIC PARK 3 ever happened.
Apparently JP4 is on hold until Amblin and Spielberg wrap up the latest INDIANA JONES film- then, and only then, will they focus on JP4. Again, more good news. Then again, the boys at BD (who broke the original casting news) are saying that these guys are off their rockers, as they have friends who are auditioning for JP4 as we speak… So who knows what the hell is going on here. Let’s hope SpielbergFilms is right, as from all accounts, it’s sounding like a lot of work still needs to be done to make it a movie worth watching.
