No JP4?

A fourth JURASSIC PARK film has been in the works for what seems like years now, probably because… it has been years now. After JURASSIC PARK 3 hit theaters some seven years ago, a sequel has been in the works ever since. But with author Michael Crichton’s death earlier this year, the franchise may not be in for a fourth adventure after all.

According to ComingSoon.net, JP producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy had this to say when asked if there was any more development in JP4: No… I don’t know. You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that’s it. Maybe that’s a sign that we don’t mess with it.

I think a better response would have been No… I don’t think so. Since we made that steaming pile of poop JP3, I think we simply killed the franchise. There’s no reason for a fourth JP, other than to make more money. See, that’s a way better line… but what they said has some merit to it too.

Since they said I don’t know, the no they said wasn’t definite, so I suppose the possibility is still there, but I doubt it. It looks like the rumors of another JURASSIC PARK has finally been put to rest… and good riddance. They need to know when to leave well enough alone, and honestly… there’s no reason to go back to JURASSIC PARK now. Except maybe in 20 years when it’s up for the remake treatment.
