No More Creeper

Just last week we heard grumblings about the possibility of yet another JEEPERS CREEPERS movie on the horizon. Today Fangoria talked with director and creator Victor Salva, and it looks like we can put that rumor behind us… for now.

Due to a ‘rights’ despute between MGM, Sony and Rogue Pictures, CREEPERS 3 is looking to be on the backburner for awhile now… but probably not forever. As Salva points out: “Before the JEEPERS films came along, no one would release films on Labor Day weekend. But each of our Creeper tales broke box-office records for Labor Day openings.”

You know, I will bet money that there were a few films released Labor Day weekend before 2001, when CREEPERS came out. Like, I’ll bet Salva a billion dollars that they released movies on that weekend- might not have been so-called blockbusters like the CREEPER films, but they were released. Sheesh… what a chode…

Not to say that I didn’t like the first CREEPERS- it had it’s tense moments, and the trailer was awesome. But JEEPERS CREEPERS 2? Pretty much one of the biggest pieces of donkey doo-doo I’ve ever sat through! It had the potential to have a huge body count with lots of gore… and failed. All the charactors deserverd to die, and most of them lived to see the end of the movie. That’s just not right- not for a movie like this.

So will there be a CREEPERS 3? Yes, someday I think the studios will want to make some bank and release a third film. Will it be good? Most likely no. Sad, but true. Anway, to hear more about how Salva single-handedly reshaped when movies are released, click HERE.
