We got a little heads up this morning regarding the brand spankin’ new trailer (different from the one we showed you a few months ago HERE) for the upcoming Anchor Bay release NOT FORGOTTEN, featuring THE MENTALIST and LAND OF THE DEAD star Simon Baker.
Directed by Dror Soref and written by Tomás Romero & Dror Soref, NOT FORGOTTEN goes a little something like this: Jack Bishop (Baker) lives the life of every man’s dream with his beautiful wife, Amaya, and a happy, healthy daughter, Toby. When Toby goes missing, Jack knows his past has come back to haunt him. He also knows the only way he can find her is to use the powers of his long forgotten faith, La Santa Muerte, protectors of the sinner, the worshippers of the dead. Accompanied by the insecure newly-appointed sheriff and a pair of wary FBI agents, Jack’s search takes him deep into his past, to a psychic who visualizes Jack’s secret in terrifying detail, to the squalid barrios and seediest brothels in Mexico City’s underbelly. But the power of the La Santa Muerte is stronger then he ever imagined, as it reaches out to touch his family and reveals an even darker and unexpected web of lies and deceit.
Whoa. The new trailer for the flick is below, and I must admit… I’m intrigued! If the trailer didn’t suck you in, how about the fact that it’s rated R for strong bloody violence, sexual content / nudity, and language? Or maybe, if you’re still not sold, you should take into account the flick co-stars the lovely Paz Vega.
Cults, secret pasts, trips to Mexico… sounds like a nightmare. It also sounds like it could a lot of fun. Enjoy the trailer below, and look for NOT FORGOTTEN in Los Angeles and other markets on May 15th.
