In a time when so-bad-they’re-good movies like TROLL 2 and THE ROOM are hailed as cult classics, it’s no surprise that BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR is making its highly anticipated way to home video. Following sold-out screenings across the country, the picture will hit DVD and Blu-ray on February 22nd.
Although the flick had previously been self-released on a limited DVD, Severin Films promises a lot of extras (to be announced) on this special edition. Check out the cover art below. Here’s the plot:
A platoon of eagle & vultures attack the residence of a small town. Many people died. It’s not known what caused the flying menace to attack. Two people managed to fight back, but will they survive Birdemic?
James Nguyen’s 2008 film is an homage to Alfred Hitchcock’s THE BIRDS and even has a cameo from star Tippi Hedren, but other than that the low budget schlock-fest is plagued with bad acting, a cheesy story (billed as a “romantic thriller”), and some of the worst CGI you’ll ever see.
