NY Subway = Horror

There’s a movie that caught my attention today and I just had to share it with all of you! The film is called SUBHYSTERIA and comes from director Leonard Zelig. Sure, nothing is catching your attention yet… but check out the synopsis:

Sixteen people get stuck in a subway car in NYC for 36 hours, without communication, food, way to escape, and a fatal sensation that they are going to die. A raw display of human behavior when one confronts the possibility of death.

Oh I’m hooked. I’ve been on both a New York subway as well as Boston’s “T”… now you may think these modes of transportation are a fun ride, well they’re really not. Don’t get me wrong… it’s not like they’re horrible, but they’re not entirely enjoyable. Far from it. So a movie taking that feeling and magnifying it ten fold… I’m sold!

What would I do in this situation? I’m sure there’s a newspaper with Sudoku lying around somewhere, I’d tackle that expert puzzle like nobodies business while everyone is busy punching each other and having cannibalistic tendencies. To celebrate my excitement for this movie we’ve got a look at the teaser trailer over in our videos section. You can just click through below to check that out. SUBHYSTERIA looks like it’s going to be a character driven thriller, which I’m all for! I love a flick that’ll get up and slap you around while taking an interest in each of it’s characters. That’s just a fun time at the movies right there!

Along with the trailer we’ve also got an official website to check out and a video interview with one of the stars. We’ve even got a vague release date in the form of Spring 2009. I know I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for any more SUBHYSTERIA news, so keep it here for updates.

Subways can be good…
