Here we have the official one-sheet for Christopher Smith’s BLACK DEATH, starring Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and Carice van Houten. The period flick comes out this winter courtesy of Magnolia Films, and it seems like the goods if you enjoy swords, blood, plague-induced lesions and Sean Bean doing his medieval thing once again. It also looks a damn sight better than the slightly comparable but much goofier SEASON OF THE WITCH.

Set during the time of the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England, a young monk is tasked with learning the truth about reports of people being brought back to life in a small village.

BLACK DEATH will be available via On-Demand, Xbox, Playstation, Vudu, Amazon.com and iTunes FEBRUARY 4 and in theaters starting MARCH 11.

I’ve just gotta ask: What’s with the mice? Are they sidekicks, like out of a Disney movie?
