Here’s the official trailer for David Fincher’s GONE GIRL, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike as a very unhappily married couple who… well, this plot is impossible to talk about without spoiling its myriad surprises. Based on the terrific book by Gillian Flynn, this figures to be one of the most talked-about films of the year when it opens in the fall. Indeed it seems as though Fincher has knocked it out of the park yet again…

On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

GONE GIRL also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit. It hits theaters on October 7th.
