The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning that Gary Oldman and Cam Gigandet are in talks to join the cast of David Goyer’s upcoming (and untitled) supernatural flick for Rogue Pictures and Platinum Dunes.
Already starring CLOVERFIELD hottie Odette Yustman, the untitled project is about a 19-year-old girl who is haunted by a dybbuk, the soul of a dead person barred from heaven, in the form of a young boy who perished in Auschwitz.
Oldman is in talks to star as a paranormal specialist looking to help the girl, and Gigandet is set to play the girl’s boyfriend. The girl here, of course, is being played by Yustman.
As it’s coming from the mind of Goyer, the flick has potential… but that potential could go both ways, as he was also behind THE INVISIBLE – a film that didn’t outright suck, but did miss the mark. Could’ve been the studios tinkering with it, could have just been some bad decisions while filming… either way, let’s not forgot the guy brought us BATMAN BEGINS and this summer’s THE DARK KNIGHT among countless other solid films. The bottom line – this film has some serious potential!
Plus, who doesn’t like Oldman? The guy’s a flippin’ badass and a sold actor at that – nice to see him on board here, for sure! Stick around for more updates on this soon-to-be-titled project as we hear it!
Yustman: Certifiable Hottie.
