Olivia Munn to star in sci-fi action film Replay for Dark Castle

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Olivia Munn has signed on to star in and produce the sci-fi action film REPLAY for Dark Castle Entertainment, the production company that was formed by Joel Silver, Robert Zemeckis, Gilbert Adler, and Jared Bush in 1999 and named in tribute to legendary genre filmmaker William Castle.

Written and directed by Jimmy Loweree, REPLAY will tell the story of

Erin Staffer (Munn), whose husband is kidnapped and murdered. Now, armed only with illegal, bleeding edge tech and a desperate plan, Erin must do everything in her power to change the past and save him.

So it seems to be a sort of time travel revenge film, which sounds very appealing to me.

Ethan Erwin and Hal Sadoff will be producing the film alongside Munn. Erwin had this to say about the project:

Audiences are going to witness the birth of the next great action star with Olivia Munn in this film. And our director, Jimmy Loweree, is an incredible young filmmaker, whose vision for this movie is going to blow people away."

Munn's previous credits include roles in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and THE PREDATOR, so she's no stranger to the action genre.

The Exchange will be presenting REPLAY to potential buyers at the Cannes Virtual Marche. CAA Media Finance is handling domestic sales.
