Olyphant a Crazie

I’ve been a fan of Timothy Olyphant since SCREAM 2, which has been his best showing in my opinion, although he did kick some ass in LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD. Olyphant was kind of a let down in HITMAN, so let’s hope he makes it up with this one.

The one I speak of would be the remake of George A. Romero’s THE CRAZIES. The Hollywood Reporter dropped word today that Olyphant is the first actor attached and will be starring. Breck Eisner will be directing the remake from a script by Scott Kosar and Ray Wright. Romero is executive producing.

THE CRAZIES is about the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. Olyphant (above) will be playing the sheriff of the town. I’m defintiely down for watching Olyphant battle some crazies, though I enjoy him more when he plays the villain. Hopefully we’ll be hearing some more CRAZIES casting news soon, so keep it here for updates.
