Omen 666 old tricks

OMEN 666 director John Moore had a sit-down with Sci Fi Wire over the weekend to talk about, well, OMEN 666.

The film, set to be released June 6th, stars Julia Stiles, Liev Schreiber, Mia Farrow, David Thewlis, Pete Postlethwaite, Michael Gambon and Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick. In the interview, in what may seem by some (like yours truly) like an attempt to latch onto the original’s greatness, the remake/sequel will have some nods to scenes from the original, including a certain scene involving Damien’s nanny.

Elsewhere, Moore talks about scenes that he chose to redo from the original, including the famous decapitation scene and Lee Remick’s hospital ‘incident’. As well, in what may seem like an opportunistic move by some, there’s even a scene involving the Pope saying that everything from 9/11 to the tsunami to Katrina is a sign that Ol’ Scratch is set to make an appearance (funny, I thought all those incidents were the result of human stupidity through inept security and pollution causing climate change).
