One-armed shark-attack survivor AnnaSophia Robb in the trailer for Soul Surfer

JoBloJoBlo

A teenage girl gets her arm noshed by a shark, but that’s not the opening of a new SyFy Original flick. Instead it’s SOUL SURFER, the inspirational real-life story of surfer Bethany Hamilton, who overcame her lack of torso appendage and continued her mission to become a champion on the waves.

The movie stars AnnaSophia Robb (BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA, RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN) and also features a still-buff Dennis Quaid, and what appears to be Helen Hunt. It’s also the screen debut of mystifyingly popular singer Carrie Underwood, but that pales in importance to an appearance by mullet-master Branscombe Richmond in a major feature. Sixkiller!
