Lee Daniels’ THE BUTLER has been slowly sharing images of it’s star-studded cast as they transform into a range of political figures from American history. We previously saw Forrest Whitaker in character (see above) and now we get a look at four more celebrities.

Oprah Winfrey will return to acting in THE BUTLER portraying Gloria Gaines. She took to Twitter to share a pair of new images featuring herself, Lenny Kravitz as James Holloway, Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan, and Alan Rickman as President Ronald Reagan. The image of Oprah and Lenny Kravitz just appear to be aged versions of themselves, but Fonda and Rickman are completely lost in their characters. I had to look twice at Rickman to tell it was him.

THE BUTLER will follow the true tale of Cecil Gaines, the White House butler who served eight American Presidents over the course of three decades.

THE BUTLER aims to be Lee Daniels’ third consecutive quality film after PRECIOUS and the upcoming THE PAPERBOY. With a cast that features Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Lenny Kravitz, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Alex Pettyfer, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower, James Marsden as John F. Kennedy, Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy, Jesse Williams, Cuba Gooding Jr., Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, Nelsan Ellis as Martin Luther King, Jr., Melissa Leo as Mamie Eisenhower, Terrence Howard, Vanessa Redgrave, and Mariah Carey, THE BUTLER seems to be a shoe-in for awards consideration next year.
