You may have heard that the C.I.A. recently acknowledged that Area 51 exists, sharing newly released documents and maps of the area that has long been a topic of fascination for UFO and conspiracy theorists. Now producer Jason Blum (INSIDIOUS, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY) has confirmed the existance of director Oren Peli's AREA 51, but the mystery of when we'll finally be able to see the found footage thriller remains.
Recently Blum sat down with the folks at WeGotThisCovered and was questioned about the long-gestating AREA 51, to which he replied…
It exists! We made it! We’re futzing with the movie in post production. Paranormal Activity, remember, it was made about four years before it came out, so Oren likes to tinker, and he’s still tinkering, but hopefully one day we’ll both see the finished version!
Talk about secretive! Who knew that the film had even completed filming? These guys are tighter-lipped than the U.S. Government.
We've been wondering about the status of AREA 51 for years, even getting a small update just a little over two years ago, but since then there hasn't been much said about the film. Maybe 2014 will be the year we finally get to see what Peli and company have been cooking up for us.
