There’s nothing like a release date change polka to end the week right. Warner Bros. announced the release date change from HOUSE OF WAX director Jaume Collet-Serra’s latest horror flick THE ORPHAN… lucky for us, it’s a change for the better!
THE ORPHAN’s original release date was November 6, 2009, and now we can expect to see THE ORPHAN on Jly 24, 2009! That’s right, going from a fall to a summer release, just like that! If the date jump was in the opposite direction, I’d be a little scared, but since the studio is pushing up the date (and in the summer, no less), I’m thinking things are looking good for THE ORPHAN!
As a recap, THE ORPHAN is about a husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be. Those crazy kids! The flick stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Jimmy Bennett, Lorry Ayers, and the always ridiculously hot Vera Farmiga.
Will WB change the date again before the film is released? Probably… let’s just hope that when they do, they move the date up again. In the meantime, mark your calendars for THE ORPHAN in theaters everywhere July 24th.
