I think we saw this one coming…

Last week we got some updates on THE BODY, a thriller being prepped by one of Spain’s foremost horror production companies, Rodar y Rodar, which has THE ORPHANAGE and JULIA’S EYES, among other films, to its credit. Well, turns out the star of both of those flicks, Belen Rueda, has joined THE BODY in a leading role. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, I guess!

THE BODY focuses on a detective who investigates the disappearance of a woman’s body from a morgue. A storm traps him there with the deceased’s husband — whom he suspects of foul play — as strange phenomena occur.

Rueda will play the woman in flashbacks. Meanwhile, veteran Spanish actor Jose Coronado will play the inspector on the case, while Hugo Silva plays the husband of the missing woman (corpse).

Shooting on THE BODY begins on January 16th with Oriol Paulo (co-writer of JULIA’S EYES) directing.
