We’ve been waiting a long time to see how well beefy new star Jason Momoa fits the role of Robert E. Howard’s infamous Hyborian death machine, but unfortunately our first look at the new CONAN THE BARBARIAN in motion is through a shimmering mystical haze.

The 3D reboot/remake/retelling comes from Marcus Nispel (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) and also features Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, Rose McGowan and Saïd Taghmaoui. It hacks into your eyeballs on August 19, 2011.

The official line: A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.
