The Hollywood Reporter dropped word today on a new sci-fi thriller called PRODIGY. First thing that comes to my mind would be something along the lines of JUMPER or THE ISLAND… thankfully that’s not the case.
PRODIGY instead is about an elite prep school that promises to turn teenagers into geniuses through a drug-and-diet regimen for a half-million-dollar tuition. When several alumni turn up dead, the school’s valedictorian is assigned to investigate the murders, leading him to a rebellious student.
Nice. I’m getting a twisted DISTURBING BEHAVIOR feeling from this one, which is all good in my book! The Reporter also dropped the good word that the gorgeous Danielle Panabaker (below) is set to star alongside Max Theriot (above).
You should all know Ms. Panabaker as one of the main hotties in the upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH flick, so looks like she’s quickly stacking up her genre credits. Potential scream queen? I sure hope so!
PRODIGY is coming from Intrepid Pictures and Kincine with Chuck Russell set to direct, who’s previous credits include A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3, THE BLOB, and THE MASK. So I’m going to go ahead and assume PRODIGY is in very good hands. As always, we’ll keep you updated.
