Well PARANORMAL ACTIVITY did it. To be completely honest I didn’t think it could but I’m glad it did. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY made SAW VI look silly this past weekend. Now personally I liked SAW VI more than PARANORMAL ACTIVITY but I dug them both and I’m stoked to see a little flick like PARANORMAL take on a giant like SAW.
You know what this means right? PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2! Oh come on you know it’s going to happen. A movie costs $11,000 to make and banks over $60 million through it’s first wide release… It’s just good business to bleed that puppy dry! Unfortunately this is true folks. I say do whatever you want Paramount. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY will be there and it’ll be the little scary flick it is even with big money sequels following it. Whether it works or not… Chances are it’ll make the money but won’t come nowhere near as good as PARANORMAL ACTIVITY.
It seems I’m not the only one thinking this way. Paramount Chairman Brad Grey tells the LA Times: “We have the rights on a worldwide basis to do ‘Paranormal 2’ and we’re looking to see if that makes some sense.” Hmm I wonder what he’ll decide upon? Keep it here as we await the word on a PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2!
