Some big news coming from the Paranormal Activity camp, and I’ll get right to it: Oren Peli has announced that Tod “Kip” Williams will be directing PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2.

Williams’ resume wouldn’t make you think he’s the ideal guy for the gig. He’s got just two feature film credits to his name, both melodramas: THE DOOR IN THE FLOOR (starring Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger) and THE ADVENTURES OF SEBASTIAN COLE (starring Adrien Grenier). He’s currently married to actress Gretchen Mol, hence the picture on the right.

In his statement, Peli says “He is the guy we want at the helm, because he knows exactly what we want to deliver to the fans… and I can’t wait to be part of what he’s putting together. I don’t want to spoil the story, but I promise it’ll surprise you. Stay Tuned.”

The film is still scheduled to open on OCTOBER 22.
