One my favorite time of the year is near;
THE SITGES FILM FESTIVAL that is (which goes
down from October 2nd to the 12th). This year (the 41st edition at that) the
Fest is giving up some info early. First off, this Sitges will be dedicated to 2001:
A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick. Actors Gary Lockwood, Keir Dullea,
special effects supervisor Douglas Trumbull and executive producer and Kubrick’s
assistant Jan Harlan will be in the house.
The Festival will also offer a retrospective on the role of science fiction
in the history of contemporary cinema, with movies like Planet of the
Apes, Forbidden Planet, Logan’s Run, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, among
others being screened. As for new titles? Here we go!
