Hollywood Reporter announced earlier in the week that Stephen Rea (V FOR VENDETTA) and Ron Perlman (HELLBOY) have joined Thomas Jane THE PUNISHER and John Malkovich in the sci-fi action fest THE MUTANT CHRONICLES. As well, German actor Benno Furmann has come aboard the Edward R. Pressman production, which is set to begin filming this summer with Simon Hunter at the helm.
Still with the film (which is looking pretty stoked at the moment), it appears that a website, 24framespersecond, has scored a rather impressive find today: a teaser poster for the film, and a 7-minute teaser trailer that was probably used to pitch the film to Paradox Entertainment! How crazy is that?
Unfortunately, the website has already exceeded its bandwidth (obviously), so unless someone posts said footage on YouTube or something, we’ll have to wait until the traffic dies down. That is, unless the site is taken down by the dreaded cease-and-desist letter. We’ll have to wait and see. Click here for the footage (if it’s back up).
Stephen Rea plays the former commander of Lieutenant Mitch Hunter (Jane), a 23rd century marine who tries to save Earth by leading a band of soldiers against evil NecroMutants. Perlman portrays the leader of a religious sect who thinks he can destroy the mutants and save the planet, and recruits Hunter to join him in doing so.
