Pet Sematary featurette promises remake will take you on a wild trip

For me, the upcoming remake of PET SEMATARY (or "new adaptation", if you prefer) is a project I was interested to see come together, to follow the process as Paramount chose the writer and directors and the roles were cast, but I'm in no rush to see the finished film. Maybe if I had any chance of seeing one of those 4DX screenings, I might be more excited. But the shrugs I give when the subject comes up don't mean much, this is one of the biggest horror releases of the year.

We're now just three weeks out from the April 5th release date, and a new featurette has arrived online to give us a look at some footage from the film while the directors and a couple of the stars discuss the creepy and heartbreaking story they have (re)told here. That featurette, which is 1 minute long, can be seen below, along with the trailer.

Directed by STARRY EYES' Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, working from a screenplay by THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN's Jeff Buhler, the new PET SEMATARY stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, Hugo Lavoie, Lucas Lavoie, Jeté Laurence, Obssa Ahmed, Alyssa Brooke Levine, and John Lithgow.

The story centers on

Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
