The dudes over at B-D snagged an update on J.T. Petty’s THE BURROWERS, which Ammon reported on back in February of last year. The film hasn’t had much going on for itself in terms of progress, as indicated from Petty himself, but things are looking up.

“BURROWERS has been constantly if slowly trundling forward over the last two years,” says Petty to B-D. “and I think we are set to shoot this summer. The movie’s largely cast, though nobody’s deal’s done yet. Rob Hall’s (ALMOST HUMAN) doing special effects, which he’s been doing an amazing job on. Lionsgate remains dedicated to letting me make the strangest and bloodiest movie I can.”

At least Lionsgate is standing behind Petty and his endeavours, since how many studios out there would be willing to stand behind a Wild West-meets-TREMORS film? Not many, that’s for sure. Stay tuned.
