Sort of an update to the report last week about the upcoming PHANTASM boxset. As you probably know, Anchor Bay UK is releasing a Region 2 boxset of the PHANTASM series October 20th. The set includes the original movie and its three sequels, plus a bonus disk with a buttload of stuff. The set comes in two flavors: the plain-vanilla digipak with a lenticular (image moves/changes as you look at it from different angles) Tall Man on silver reflective mirrorboard, and the extra-special limited edition PHANTASM Sphere, which has the five disks in an ‘egg-carton’ type sponge for safe keeping. The sphere set is limited to 20,000 copies, so you’ll have to act fast.
The original picture of the Sphere set I posted was a prototype to what was actually going to be sold. Now Anchor Bay UK decided to give fans a look at the final Sphere itself. Take a look below, or head over to Phantasmfilms.com for a larger version.
