Pirates of the Caribbean director shares words about the teaser and a poster

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The latest PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN adventure finds Captain Jack Sparrow evading deadly ghost pirates (what else?) led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem). Having escaped from the Devil’s Triangle, Salazar is determined to kill every pirate at sea…including Jack Sparrow. The teaser for the film (of which you can see below) hit last weekend, and now one of the film's directors had a few words to share regarding its reception.

A big thanks to the millions of you out there that have watched our new teaser trailer for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: Dead Men Tell No Tales! I'm so grateful for your enthusiasm and comments. The last couple of days have really reminded me why I love movies – and why I wanted to make this one ❤️☠️

While I'm a mild fan of the PIRATES movies thus far, I do believe that someone can come along and make another decent one. As mentioned in the previous article, directors Ronning and Sandberg did a hell of a job with KON-TIKI, and it's almost for that reason alone I'm looking forward to seeing what DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES has to offer.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES will open in theaters on May 26, 2017.
