Samuel Goldwyn Films is getting in on the escape room craze with their upcoming film PLAY OR DIE, which seems like a good idea after the success the movie ESCAPE ROOM had at the global box office.

This one is based on the novel Puzzle by French author Franck Thilliez (and if you can read French, there are copies available on Amazon). Directed by Jacques Kluger from a screenplay by Kluger and Amiel Bartana, the film tells the story of

Lucas and Chloe, two passionate gamers, who decide to participate in Paranoia, a very exclusive escape game. After solving a first riddle, they make it to the location of the finale in an abandoned mental hospital, lost in a frightening forest. There, four other participants are waiting on them. They soon realize that only one of them will get out of there alive.

Charley Palmer Rothwell and Roxane Mesquida play Lucas and Chloe.

PLAY OR DIE is getting a VOD release on July 2nd.

Paranoia doesn't look like it would be a very fun game to play, but this might be a fun movie to watch. The trailer can be seen below.
