It’s been a while, but Dante Tomaselli fans will finally get to play on SATAN’S PLAYGROUND when it heads to DVD next year.
In a press release today, Anchor Bay spilled the beans on the indie horror pic, which stars Felissa Rose (SLEEPAWAY CAMP), Ellen Sandweiss (EVIL DEAD) and Edwin Neal (that nutty hitchhiker from the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE). The DVD will be available next summer, and will contain an audio commentary, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, trailers, picture gallery and more.
“Anchor Bay has always set the bar for releasing contemporary and classic horror films on DVD,” said Tom Bambard, Horror Brand Director of Anchor Bay Entertainment. “Adding Satan’s Playground to our library was a very easy call to make.”
Drawing on the classic horror film styles of the 1970s and 1980s, the film chronicles the Bruno family on their trip through New Jersey’s legendary Pine Barrens. When their car breaks down en route to a wilderness camping retreat, the unsuspecting travelers find themselves terrorized by a mysterious supernatural presence. Seeking help and safety in this desolate wooded region, they’re forced to confront a very real horror when the bizarre Mrs. Leeds and her equally unhinged children offer shelter from the unseen force lurking in the forbidding countryside. Trapped in a surreal nightmare, they must choose between the known and the unknown as they try to survive in SATAN’S PLAYGROUND.
