Plunge into the horror of Harvest Lake with Tristan Risk and Ellie Church

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

Writer/director Scott Schirmer shocked audiences with his 2012 feature debut FOUND. For viewers who have been anxiously waiting to find out how he would follow up the deeply disturbing horrors of that film, the answer has arrived, and it's a movie called HARVEST LAKE.

Synopsis:

Five friends stumble under the spell of a libidinous, otherworldly presence in the woods. Inhibitions drop and behavior becomes erratic as one of the friends tries to escape the carnal free-fall, ultimately bringing him face to face with the source of a mystery that will change his life forever.

To bring those five characters to the screen, Schirmer assembled an incredible cast of familiar faces from the independent genre scene: AMERICAN MARY's Tristan Risk, Ellie Church of TIME TO KILL, Jason Crowe (EASTER CASKET), Dan Nye (THE LEGEND OF WASCO), and Kevin Roach, who stepped into Robert Englund's shoes for the fan film THE CONFESSION OF FRED KRUEGER.

HARVEST LAKE sounds to have an intriguingly unique and original story. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out and to watching its talented cast deal with the scenario Schirmer has placed them in.

Further distribution news is likely to be forthcoming, but for now a limited edition Blu-ray release can be ordered through the site of Bandit Motion Pictures, the company Schirmer has formed with fellow filmmaker Brian K. Williams.

The trailer for HARVEST LAKE can be viewed below. As you might expect after reading the synopsis, it is NSFW.
