David Robert Mitchell’s thriller IT FOLLOWS will no doubt be scaring audiences at both the BFI London Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, and today we got our hands on its first clip. It's a very atmospheric and chilling look into Mitchell's haunter that focuses its attention on Jay—played by Maika Monroe—who panics in the middle of class, all thanks to an old woman in a white gown. The clip is proof of the power that a film's score has over what's being see on screen. While an old woman slowly walking towards us isn't all that creepy in and of itself, an ominous score that quietly picks away at the nerves can elevate something so simple into terrifying territory. Check it out below!

Radius-TWC will be releasing this one here in the U.S., so be on the lookout for an exact date. Here’s what it’s about:

For 19-year-old Jay (Maika Monroe, AT ANY PRICE), the fall should be about school, boys, and weekends at the lake. Yet, after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter, she suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions; she can't shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her. As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind.

The film also stars Keir Gilchrist ("The United States of Tara"), Daniel Zovatto (Laggies), Jake Weary ("Chicago Fire"), Olivia Luccardi ("Orange Is the New Black"), and Lili Sepe (Spork).
