Magnolia Releasing has just debuted its poster for the twisted Bobcat Goldthwait comedy GOD BLESS AMERICA, and it’s sort of a letdown. I’ve heard this movie is incredibly, profoundly demented, so it’s disappointing to see such a bland design… The flick doesn’t hit until mid-spring, so there’s time for a new one-sheet, but for now we’re stuck with this quickie.

Loveless, jobless and possibly terminally ill, Frank (Joel Murray) has had enough of the downward spiral of America. With nothing left to lose, Frank takes his gun and decides to off the stupidest, cruellest and most repellent members of society with an unusual accomplice: 16-year-old Roxy (Tara Lynne Barr), who shares his sense of rage and disenfranchisement.

GOD BLESS AMERICA hits Video On Demand on APRIL 6th, then heads to theaters on MAY 11th.
