Poster for Rampage, starring Dwayne Johnson, unveiled before trailer

Rampage Brad Peyton Dwayne The Rock Johnson Naomie Harris

The trailer for the video game adaptation RAMPAGE, which stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and a trio of giant monsters, is scheduled to arrive online later today (around 5pm Eastern time), but ahead of that the film's first poster has been unveiled.

Johnson himself had the privilege of being the one to send the poster out into the world on his social media accounts. The poster features Johnson, toting a large gun, hanging out with one of the film's giant creatures, and he posted it with the caption:

This is my best friend, George. A rare gigantic albino Silverback.

I love animals because they’re honest. If they like you, they lick you. If they don’t, they eat you.

Directed by Brad Peyton from a screenplay by Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse, Ryan Condal, and Adam Sztykiel, RAMPAGE has the following synopsis:

Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

Johnson is joined in the cast by Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, P.J. Byrne, Marley Shelton, Joe Manganiello, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, and Matt Gerald.

The film is set to reach theatres on April 20, 2018… and the trailer will be available for viewing in just a few hours, so keep an eye out for that.
