Poster proves The Wind never stops

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Emma Tammi’s THE WIND made its World Premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival to an enthusiastic Midnight Madness crowd and screened at Fantastic Fest as well. IFC Midnight acquired U.S. distribution rights and will be releasing the movie next month (more info on that below). The other day we shared the film's new trailer with you guys and today we have the official poster. It features ghost hands trying to grab our heroine and it looks like she has nothing more than a rifle to protect herself.

A femme-centric western and supernatural horror, the film is written by Teresa Sutherland and it explores

an unseen evil as it haunts the homestead in this chilling, folkloric tale of madness, paranoia, and otherworldly terror.

Lizzy (Gerard) is a tough, resourceful frontierswoman settling a remote stretch of land on the 19th-century American frontier. Isolated from civilization in a desolate wilderness where the wind never stops howling, she begins to sense a sinister presence that seems to be borne of the land itself, an overwhelming dread that her husband dismisses as superstition. When a newlywed couple arrives on a nearby homestead, their presence amplifies Lizzy’s fears, setting into motion a shocking chain of events.

There will be special screenings of the film in New York and Los Angeles, with Tammi in attendance for Q&As at a couple of them. First there's the New York Special Screening on Friday, March 22 at 7:00 PM at IFC Center – Q&A with Tammi, then there's the Los Angeles Special Screenings on Tuesday, March 12 at 1:30PM at Soho House Screening Room and Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30PM at The Egyptian Theater – Q&A with Tami.

THE WIND is directed by Tammi from a script by Sutherland. It stars Caitlin Gerard, Julia Goldani Telles, Ashley Zukerman, Dylan McTee, and Miles Anderson. After the above-mentioned screenings, THE WIND hits theatres and VOD on April 5th. Are you excited? Let us know below!
