The Poster elfs have been busy! Today, we’ve got a nice batch of interesting, weird, spoilery, and crappy posters to show you. If you like shitty exorcism movies, offbeat horror flicks, or popcorn action flicks, then this post will likely give you something to beam about.
First, let’s start with something cool, which comes in the form of this alternate poster for JOHN DIES AT THE END (courtesy of Comingsoon), which features a found object art colage title. Very cool indeed. The film is currently available to rent on demand and hits theaters on January 25, 2013.
Next up is the weird-looking I-see-what-they-did-there poster for THE LAST EXORCISM PART II, which is pretty self-explnatory. Fans of the genre will no doubt be excited for this and the poster is clever, but seemingly just as odd. The film opens on March 1, 2013.
Third in line is the sad, sorry quad poster for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s big return, THE LAST STAND (from IGN). The initial poster and the alternate “art” poster were damn cool, but the last two suffer from a severe case of the jackass. Mainly, there’s way too much of him. It’s kind of sad that Arnold has to share space with Johnny Knoxville to promote one of his films today, especially in something as uninspired as this. The film still looks pretty fun, though, and hits theaters on January 25, 2013.
Lastly, we have a twist-spoiling Japanese poster for CABIN IN THE WOODS, which completely spells out (for the most part) the fact that *spoiler earmuffs* it’s not really a horror movie and more of a deconstructive sci-fi flick. Or something. I don’t know what it is, actually, besides pretty damn awesome. It’s certainly not a horror film, though. Anyway, it’s a cool design, but wow, way to spell it all out Japan!
