Pre-Order Gabriel

We’ve been keeping you updated about the Australian flick GABRIEL for a while. It’s just got that gritty dark feel we all love.

The first flick that comes to mind when checking out the media for GABRIEL is THE CROW, and I don’t think there’s a person out there that doesn’t agree with The Arrow that THE CROW is phenomonal. I know it’s one of my all time favorite flicks.

Last we heard about GABRIEL, I was telling you about the release date here in the US and gave you a look at the awesome trailer. Now even though the flick’s theatrical release in Australia wasn’t great, I’m still stoked for this one, as I’m sure lots of others are.

While the DVD release date here in the US is still slated for February 19, 2008 (to my knowledge), the DVD is being released March 3 via Amazon.co.uk. You can even preorder the thing! So you can go check that out over here if your a non North American resident (the DVD is Region 2).

The synopsis for GABRIEL reads: There is a struggle between Arc and Fallen angels for control of Purgatory and its population of re-born souls. At present, darkness rules and Gabriel (Whitfield), the last of the seven Arcs sent to return light to the city, must assume human form for the first time. Purgatory’s underworld is dangerous and seedy, and Gabriel must hide his powers in order to survive. In the darkest place of the human soul, this lone arc angel’s battle with his human feelings and emotions will prove as perilous as facing the Fallen angels.

It’s directed by Shane Abbess with Abbess also penning the script with Matt Hylton Todd. The flick stars Andy Whitfield, Dwaine Stevenson, Samantha Noble, Erika Heynatz (below), Michael Piccirilli, and Harry Pavlidis. Keep it here for any more GABRIEL news.
