The premiere of the AMC series based on Garth Ennis's popular Preacher comic book series is so close you can almost taste it. It's just five days away now, so I'm not sure if the below featurettes will help make the remaining wait easier or heighten your anticipation levels to a point where it will be unbearable. But let's find out.

The first of the featurettes introduces the main characters of the show: eponymous preacher Jesse Custer, played by Dominic Cooper; his soulmate Tulip, played by Ruth Negga; and his buddy Cassidy, played by Joseph Gilgun. This one would be of particular interest to potential viewers who are familiar with the comic book, because it gives you an idea of how these characters are being handled for their transition to live action and what the story developed by pilot directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and showrunner Sam Catlin is like.

Then, once you're familiar with the actors and characters, check out the second video, which is a fun greeting from the set that includes a tour of Jesse Custer's church.

Preacher is about

Jesse Custer, a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy embark on a journey to, literally, find God.

The first episode airs on AMC this Sunday, May 22nd, at 10pm.
