I’m grateful that Pixar honcho John Lasseter took the reins of all Disney’s animation — the Mouse House seemed content to let traditional animation go into cryogenic storage (or at least direct to DVD), but Lasseter fortunately breathed life back into the hand-drawn carcass.
Otherwise we probably wouldn’t have seen THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, a gorgeous-looking old-school ‘toon (with some subtle computer animation incorporated) about a New Orleans girl and her amphibious adventure. Plus Randy Newman tunage and the great Keith David voicing the villain.
Check out a clip and featurette below. The movie opens in December.
